Kumbhalgarh

The journey to Kumbhalgarh Fort is as memorable as the destination itself, with scenic roads meandering through serene countryside. Along the way, you’ll glimpse vibrant rural life—women in bright saris tending to wheat fields, drawing water, and plowing with oxen.

About Kumbhalgarh Fort

Perched 1,100 meters high in the Aravalli Hills, Kumbhalgarh Fort is a vast 15th-century stronghold. Its 36-kilometer wall—the second longest in the world—encloses 365 temples, grand palaces, lush gardens, and over 700 cannon bunkers. The fort was conquered only once, briefly, by Mughal Emperor Akbar, who retreated just two days later.

We suggest visiting Kumbhalgarh as a day trip from Udaipur, Narlai, or Jojawar.
